Meet the Regaliceratops, a majestic dinosaur with a regal appearance! Its name, meaning "Royal Horned Face," highlights the ornate frill around its head, resembling a crown. This creature roamed the earth during the late Cretaceous Period, approximately 68 million years ago, in what is now Alberta, Canada.
History: Discovered by geologist Peter Hews in an Alberta river in 2005, the skull of the Regaliceratops was not officially named and described until 2015. The nearly complete skull, now housed in the Royal Tyrell Museum, showcases the distinctive frill that inspired its name.
Scientific Name: Regaliceratops peterhewsi
Characteristics: The Regaliceratops boasted a body structure typical of ceratopsians, featuring short front legs, elongated hind legs, and a short tail. Its head sported short brow horns, a nose horn, and a parrot-like beak, complemented by the unique plated frill. Our meticulously crafted Regaliceratops toy figurine faithfully reproduces these features in intricate detail.
Size: Standing at 2 ¾ inches tall and measuring 6 ¾ inches long, this Regaliceratops toy figure is slightly longer than a soda can laid on its side.
